Casa Magnetica
Introduced for Six Flags over Texas' second season in 1962, Casa Magnetica has had a long and varied history at the park. Casa Magnetica's premise is simple — a walk-through attraction of a house built at extreme angles resulting in optical illusions that seem to defy gravity. Groups of guests are led through the attraction by guides and given a spiel on the strange origins of the house. Throughout the walk-through, angled floors and walls make it appear as if water flows uphill, or that a broom can stand upright on an angled floor by itself.
Casa Magnetica was briefly re-themed in 1979 to a "Lost Temple" theme, but this was short-lived and the traditional Casa Magnetica returned the next season. Six Flags closed the attraction down in the late 90s. Casa Magnetica then made a brief comeback in 2004, lasting a few seasons before shutting down again.
Six Flags justified the attraction's closure with several reasons including low throughput and flooding problems. The attraction's highly-angled walkways which helped create the illusions also made walking through the attraction a challenge for some guests. Still, as with any popular past attraction, Casa Magnetica remains a nostalgic favorite for many previous Six Flags over Texas visitors.
2011 Comeback
In honor of the park's 50th anniversary, Six Flags over Texas announced a re-opening of Casa Magnetica for the "50 Days of Fun" celebration, from June 18 through August 7, 2011. The park has not publicly announced any future plans for the attraction.

Here's to hoping the park brings the attraction back for good. It's a historical and rather unique attraction in a park that's becoming more and more cookie-cutter every year.
