Roaring Rapids

The Roaring Rapids water ride takes passengers on a quarter-mile journey through rough-and-tumbling rapids, waves, and waterfalls. One and a half million gallons of water continuously pump through the heavily-landscaped ride and ensure everyone gets a good soaking.

While water-rapids rides are now common at theme parks, Six Flags over Texas' model is somewhat atypical in that the entire course is surrounded by tall, faux cliffs and dense foliage that somewhat hide the park to riders. This additional theming creates a more encompassing and authentic ride experience, especially when compared to other similar rides which amount to little more than floating down a concrete trough. At the same time, it also makes the ride very difficult to photograph.

Roaring Rapids is one of SFOT's best themed rides. You WILL get soaked! Although it is a great ride for the whole family, the waterfalls and other water elements provide a thrilling experience.
